Ok so tomorrow is April, and it's about time that I do a better job at holding myself responsible for my New Years resolutions. So I sat down and decided to redesign them, because the original one just wasn't working for me anymore. These resolutions are rethought out and will hopefully help me do a better job of reaching my goal.
Now I did keep a few from the original set of resolutions, but I also added two new ones. So there you have it. Hopefully I can do a better job at sticking to these, than the original ones. MOTIVATION IS KEY!
Since it is the last day of January, it's time that I give you an update on how I am doing with my resolutions. So that you don't have to reference the original post, here is what my resolutions are.
So how did I do?
Read 1 book each month - I did great with this one! I actually finished a book I started in December, and then read two more books and started a third. In case you want to check them out the books that I read were: The Widow File, Divergent, and Insurgent, all of which I highly recommend!
Eat healthier - I did okay with this one but not as great as I would like. I'm learning that having healthy food around for S & I is actually kind of hard work. It's just hard to keep fresh food around without going to the grocery store every week which is no bueno for me.
Workout 3 times a week - I also did okay with this one for a while, but slacked off when school started. It's a little understandable because i'm still getting into the swing of things. But I plan on being back on this in full force starting next week.
Blog 3 times a week - I've done great with this one! I've actually been scheduling posts, and sometimes getting in here to blog more than 3 times.
Only buy thrifted clothes - I haven't needed to buy any clothes at all so i'm doing good with this one so far. I also did a purge of my closet so now i'm rediscovering pieces that I own that were getting hidden with all the stuff I didn't wear.
Stay organized - I'm doing okay with this one but could be better. I'm still trying to figure out how to organize my desk space so that it works the best for me and I haven't found it yet. I also just have my textbooks and school spirals just laying around in stacks to I need to find and efficient way to store them so that they aren't just laying on the floor.
Soda Plan - This is the one that I am most proud of because I am right on track if not even ahead! I'm down to not even drinking a soda most days, and when I get one I have to get like a super small one because I just can't even drink the whole thing. Soon enough i'm hoping I won't feel the need to get one at all!
Now the other thing in order for today is linking up with Whitney for #backthatazzup Friday! Cause we all need to share the good jamz.
1. Do you plan to change any of your eating habits in the new year?
Oh yes! I don't want to totally rehash this out but if you want some more details then check out my post here, that details my new years resolutions.
2. Any workout tips to get us back in shape after the Holidays?
Once again go >>> here
3. What is your favorite thing you did over the Holidays?
Probably just getting to spend lots of time with S and both of our families. It was pretty low key, but I still really enjoyed it.
4. What is something you hope that you accomplish in 2014 that you did not in 2013?
Being a better blogger. If you are new to my blog and haven't read my about me post you wouldn't know that I had another blog once upon a time, and it got put on the back burner all too often. So even though my new little blog is not quite two months old yet i've dedicated a lot of time and effort into this little space of mine and I want to do everything possible to help it grow.
5. Name 3 things happening this year you are excited about and why.
I'm starting a new school this month, and i'm actually excited about it.
S & I have our one year anniversary in March!
I'll finally be turning 21 (in November, but still i'm excited about it).
Ah that old debate lingo popping into this little blog here, haha. Anyways I am here today to give you my resolutions for 2014. I honestly have never really made a list of resolutions so it will be interesting to see how this plays out, and what I actually stick and commit to.
My first resolution is to at least one book every month. Since S got me a kindle for my birthday a few months ago I have been reading a little bit but I used to read a lot more. So that is why I want to read at least one book every month. This months book is The Widow File. I actually started reading it in early December but recently I haven't made much time for myself to read.
Second, I want to try to eat healthier. Now I know that this is a resolution that a lot of people make and a lot of people don't stick to it. S & I have already started trying to fill our fridge and pantry with healthier food, but our biggest downfall is probably fast food. I'm wanting to get in the habit of cooking more often and finding stuff that is easy too cook for those nights when I don't really feel like cooking.
Third, workout 3 times a week. Yet another goal that a lot of people make and don't stick too. Well I have been putting off my workouts for too long, so armed with my c25k app I will be starting my workouts in full force next week. I picked 3 times a week because that is what the app goes by, and Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are actually the best days for me to fit in my workout. And yeah I waited till this next week to started because I have been enjoying my last few lazy days, and S having days off, since school is going to start back in just a few weeks.
Four, blog at least 3 times a week. I have a lot of stuff that I want to post on my little slice of the internet, and this resolution is to just help make sure that I dedicate time to this space, and make sure that it doesn't get put on the back burner. I want to grow my blog as much as I can this year!
Fifth, only buy thrifted clothes. I picked this resolution because the fact that I live like 5 minutes away from a mall makes it all too tempting to go there to shop and then I end up spending wayy too much money. So since I know there are also quite a few thrift and second hand stores around here like Plato's Closet, I am going to try going to one of those places when I need clothes. Along with this I am also going to purge my closet within the next week or so and get rid of all of the stuff that I don't wear cause there is a TON.
Sixth, stay organized. I just bought the most perfect Erin Condren planner, and I really want to commit to using it to help me stay organized. Whether its school, workouts, dinner plans, or bills, I want to make sure that I stay on top of everything so that I can get everything done as efficiently as possible.
Lastly, I want to stop drinking soda. I have a weakness for Dr. Pepper, and I really want to commit to stop drinking it. I have done it before so I know that it's possible and I can do it. I just came up with an outline of how i'd like to slowly wean myself off it.
So there you have my resolutions of 2014 explained! I'm gonna do a little update, either once or twice a month, to try to use my blog to hold myself accountable for my resolutions, and let you know how I'm doing!
Hey guys! I hope you are having a great weekend. I just wanted to pop in and participate in the Sunday Social with Neely over at A Complete Waste of Makeup. So here are this weeks questions:
1. What is the best New Years Eve you’ve ever had?
Honestly most of my NYE's have been spent pretty low key, either with family or just a few friends. I am excited to spend NYE this year with S though. :)
2. Are you doing anything for NYE this year and if so what?
I'm not entirely sure yet, haha. S and I may be attending a little get together with some of his friends.
3. Name a book we should all read come January?
The Widow File. I actually have not finished reading it yet, but its really good and I am liking it so far.
